Dim sum and dragons!

Happy Year of the Tiger!

And no, I’m not talking about gossip over this guy and his apparent bevy of women.

Chinese New Year started on Feb. 14 (Also Valentine’s Day), so Boston Chinatown decided to hold its celebration this weekend. On Sunday, Feb. 21¬† you can head downtown for the lion dance festival, which kicks off at 10 a.m. on the main stage in Phillips Square (Harrison Avenue and Essex Street).

Of course, while you’re in Chinatown, you might as well stop for some dim sum!

Hei La Moon, which is just outside the Chinatown gate, is one of my favorites for everything dim sum (shrimp dumplings, egg tarts and delicious treats wrapped in rice noodle wraps). Just be prepared for a wait. On new year’s day the wait for a table was at least an hour long! (It was well worth it though.)

Mmmm! I can already taste all the yummy dim sum now. See you there!
